Time to Celebrate!

Hello everyone,

Here at FFCD every victory counts just as much!

This week we have two reasons to celebrate!

The first reason is our blog has reached over 1000 pageviews in such a short space of time. We would like to thank you all who have taken the time to read our blog.

The second reason is that Shelley Buckle (Miss Deaf South Africa) who is our Brand Ambassador will be interviewed live tomorrow morning (Thursday, 26 April 2012) on the Expresso Show on SABC 3 at 7:30am. She will discuss Fashion For Charity Durban (FFCD) and various other projects.

Will you be featured?

We at FFCD are all about showcasing Durban's potential.
We are extremely passionate about fashion and trends, but more importantly, we take great interest in the street style that our amazing province has to offer.

So in order to showcase just how stylish some of our locals are,we are now proud to present "Fashion Featured" to you!

The column will showcase street style snaps of our local trendsetters, so if you happen to spot us around town, camera in hand, please let us take a quick photo of your fashionable self to share with our readers

We look forward to featuring you!

Drum Roll Please...Introducing Shelley Buckle

As the founders of FFCD our task does not end with just helping our elected beneficiary. A huge part of FFCD is to nurture the talent of young local designers and models. Being able to follow their growth we are extremely proud of everyone associated with FFCD.

One such young lady being Shelley Buckle who has stood by FFCD from the very beginning and we couldn't be more proud to introduce her to you all as our Brand Ambassador for 2012. Shelly is kind-hearted, courageous and constantly creating change for the youth and therefore encapsulates everything which FFCD is about.

Shelley, We would like to welcome you and we look forward to creating greater change with you throughout 2012.

Shelley's personal experiences with FFCD and her general outlook on the NPO...

"I have been involved with two of the Fashion For Charity Durban shows. Both being incredible experiences! It's been amazing to work with other designers and models whom had volunteered to help raise money for a charity. Seeing the end results of the money raised being handed over to the charity, and knowing you were a part of that, is such a great feeling!

Looking at the organisation at a whole, I think it's a brilliant concept. Usually raising money for a charity can be difficult, but by combining a fashion show with other forms of entertainment, it definitely brings the charity into the spot light!

With the success of the past Fashion For Charity shows, I can say that I'm definitely looking forward to the next one, and especially with being an ambassador, which is a great honour!"

Public Appeal to Help Victims of the Kennedy Rd. Informal Settlement (Durban) Fire

For those of you who are unaware, on Monday evening Kennedy Road Informal Settlement was ravaged by a fire leaving many homeless. As the weather tends to get colder we at FFCD can only imagine how difficult its going to be for these now hom...eless people to feed their families and rebuild their homes.

We would like to appeal to the public to donate any of the following items in whatever quantity you can (remember that even 1 can of food will help a family):
• Non-perishable food (can food, samp, rice, sugar, oil, etc);
• Clothing for children and adults;
• Blankets; or
• Anything else you feel that may help.

For collection points please email us on FFCD@live.co.za.
