The idea arose in early 2009 that an event should be hosted that attracts the attention of the public, it was also emphasised that this event should benefit the future of South Africa, the children. After much thought it was decided that a fashion show would be the ideal event that appeals to a large sector of the Durban public. Upon deciding the type of event research was conducted and contact was made with Charity Fashion Show California (CFSC). CFSC is based on the above mentioned concept and is the biggest fashion event on the West Coast of the United States of America. The executive director of CFSC was contacted with regards to hosting something of the similar nature in Durban. With a combination of proudly South African flavour and a fashion event along the lines of international standards Fashion For Charity Durban (FFCD) was born.
